Church Development

In 1983, Northern Sudan imposed Sharia Law on Southern Sudan, thereby forcing their Islamic religious agenda on the predominantly Christian South and immediately igniting the 21-year-old civil war between the two. The war waged throughout Sudan took a devastating toll on all aspects of life---physical, mental and spiritual.

In the end, 2.5 million people were dead and over 4 million displaced. People’s right to worship according to their faith of choice was violated and taken away. The Church in Southern Sudan was one of the primary targets during raids by the North. Christians were widely persecuted and their church communities and buildings were destroyed.

One might think that the harsh reality of war would destroy a person’s faith. To the contrary, Bishop Elias Taban says, "The unity of the Church has become a reality to us....so that is the strength of the Church as a result of the war."

Solving these problems

The Church in Southern Sudan is responsible for much of the rebuilding of the country. Unlike the North, the Church in Southern Sudan is providing care and help to all people, regardless of their faith.

Even more than the government, the Church is helping rebuild Southern Sudan by providing education, medical needs and other social and infrastructural needs. It is filling the gaps where the governments are failing. I have personally visited medical clinics and schools which are being rebuilt because of efforts by the Church.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Sudan, one of Nadus’ local contacts and partners, is providing medical care to widows, the war-disabled and children; running the Nehemiah Primary School, renting rooms, supporting an orphanage and building hospitals and other health clinics.

Nadus Films desires to serve the Church in Southern Sudan because it brings so much hope where hope has been nearly extinguished. Nadus Films can help strengthen the Sudanese Church by equipping them with material needs and training. And you can help!

How investing in film is a solution

By investing in Nadus Films and "The New Sudan" you will be investing your money directly in the future of Sudan and the primary rebuilding force in the country---the Church. The full-length documentary, “The New Sudan”, will highlight the work being done by the Church in Southern Sudan and how we can help them help their people.

Donate for Change

On February 16th, you will be contacted and asked to contribute monthly to Nadus Films. Please give! As we join our efforts and resources, the completion of “The New Sudan” and its use as an awareness and recruitment tool WILL make a difference---in the lives of the Sudanese, but also in the lives of those of us who take an active role in reaching out to those in need around the world.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY TO JOIN THE FIGHT?
